A doctor once told me I feel too much. I said, so does god. That's why you can see the grand canyon from the moon. We are a telescope, a riverbed, empty lockets melting into gold. We are hearts breaking bread. Fold me in the napkin poem. Pull tinsel from my hair, from all the past I cannot let go. My bones know the song of our tears, dripping from the faucet, ticking like a metronome. I know there is better music, even in this cabin full of fever. Tonight I'm catching nothing but the lightning bug. My body is a mason jar, transparent as a jellyfish. I wish for a heart you can see straight through, for a voice that glows in the dark, and a few really good friends to skip moon rocks to.

about

I was born and raised in the mountains, educated in wide open fields, and am now near the lakes. I enjoy people-watching, watching far too many films and too much TV, reading, cooking foreign food, and creative writing. I love my family, my friends, and my God. I prefer dogs over cats, coffee shops over clubs, and desserts served first. I miss the way thunder sounded in the mountains. I wish I was bolder and kinder and had a better sense of direction. I dislike most chick flicks, all aspects of doing laundry, and very few wines.
